1. WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
The CEO, Mr. Santosh Gnanakan presided over the function and inaugurated the planting of saplings. House-wise competitions were held on the theme, ‘think, eat and save’.
2. CONSERVE MY PLANET - INDUCTION PROGRAMME
The swearing in of the GREEN AMBASSADORS was held and presided over by Senior Executive from Schneider Electric Mr. Prashanth Shetty and coordinator Mrs. Syamala .
3. CONSERVE MY PLANET ACTIVITIES
Children were divided into four groups; Green stars, Green pulse, Green champions and Green future and tasks assigned related to topics such as sources, effects and control of air, water and soil pollutions.
4. THUMB ART SESSION
Students found their own themes such as jungles, waterfalls, oceans with life forms etc., an outflow of vibrant colours, leaving out all the formalities of painting that took form from their little thumbs.
5. ELECTRICITY BILLS
COMPLETION OF LOG BOOK
Green ambassadors made the electricity bill collections and completed their log books and made their own ideal electricity bills as per the guidelines given to them.
6. MAKNG OF THE SOLAR OVEN AND WEB OF LIFE ACTIVITY
Children had made their own solar ovens with small card board boxes with muffins. Students pinned up pictures in their uniforms and started making the web. The child who was dressed up as Sun stood in the centre. Each animal, bird etc, started telling about their interconnections and wool was passed from one little hand to another one forming a beautiful web.
7. POWER DETECTIVE SESSION
Small groups of students checked water, electricity and fuel wastage and consumption in the school. They discussed with the drivers about fuel consumption.
8. GREEN ARTISTES AND CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITIONS
Champion ship competitions began with forty green ambassadors who wrote the written test – “Solve the mystery”. Top scorers, ten in number were selected for the “Speak your mind” round. school champion , Deepak from class v c was finally selected and he presented our science working model in the interschool competition.
